Câu hỏi & bài mẫu Band 9

Do you think everyone has a natural talent?
Bài mẫu Band 9

Honestly, I do believe everyone is born with some kind of natural leaning, though it's not always the sort of thing that gets applauded on a stage. We tend to reserve the word 'talent' for singers or athletes, but I'd argue that being able to read a room, or stay calm when everyone else is panicking, is just as much a gift. My younger cousin, for instance, couldn't carry a tune to save her life, but she has this uncanny knack for making strangers feel instantly at ease, and that's opened more doors for her than any exam ever could. So the talent is usually there from the start; the tricky part is spotting it and giving it room to breathe.

Is talent more important than hard work?
Bài mẫu Band 9

If I had to pick, I'd come down firmly on the side of hard work, because raw talent without graft tends to fizzle out. Talent might give you a head start, but it's persistence that actually carries you across the finish line. I've seen it play out with two classmates learning the guitar: one was a natural who could pick up melodies by ear, while the other was all thumbs at first, but the plodder practised religiously and ended up leaving the 'gifted' one in the dust. That said, I wouldn't dismiss talent altogether, since the ideal combination is clearly a bit of both working hand in hand.

How can schools help students develop talents?
Bài mẫu Band 9

I think the biggest thing schools can do is simply widen the menu, because a child can't discover a passion they've never been exposed to. Too many schools funnel everyone down the same academic corridor and quietly sideline anything that doesn't show up in an exam. When I was at school, they brought in a debating club almost as an afterthought, and it completely transformed a few of my shy classmates who had never once shone in a traditional lesson. Beyond that, I'd say teachers need to catch the small sparks early and nurture them, rather than waiting for a talent to be fully formed before they take it seriously.

Do you think people can learn effectively without a teacher nowadays? Why or why not?
Bài mẫu Band 9

For a lot of skills, absolutely, and I'd say the internet has genuinely levelled the playing field in that respect. Between YouTube tutorials, online forums and free courses, a motivated person can teach themselves almost anything from scratch, which was unthinkable a generation ago. I actually picked up basic coding entirely on my own, just by tinkering and Googling my way out of every error message. Having said that, I don't think teachers are obsolete by any means, because a good mentor can spot the bad habits you can't see in yourself and steer you clear of the dead ends, so the self-taught route works best when you have the discipline to keep yourself honest.
